About Precision Waterjet
Precision Waterjet is the brainchild of Matt Gebert – licensed electrician, proud Hamiltonian, and maker of things.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt initiated a project to make personal protective equipment for local health services, using state-of-the-art waterjet cutting technology and collaborating with fellow local makers and suppliers.
Since then, Matt has gone on to develop Precision Waterjet Pty Ltd, Hamilton's premier waterjet cutting business.
Now offering both Waterjet and Laser cutting, Matt has grown the business to be able to support all your cutting needs.
Waterjet cutting technology involves the use of high pressure water and an abrasive garnet to cut through almost any material. Waterjet cutting does not heat-affect the target material, and can also cut non-metallic materials including stone and glass. On our machine we can cut up to 200mm thickness.
Laser cutting provides more flexibility and speed and is perfect for thinner cutting requirements

High pressure water — above 50,000 psi of pressure — and an abrasive garnet mix together to cut through nearly any material.
Waterjet cutting is special in that it has the ability to cut through a wide range of materials that other cutting methods don’t always do well. So far, we have worked on projects with steel, timber, acrylic, aluminium, stone/tiles and more.

We absolutely can! We frequently help out customers seeking custom parts for bespoke machinery in a variety of industries.
You can choose to provide your own CAD designs if you have them, or simply provide us a reference part and we’ll take care of the rest using our state of the art tracing technology.

This will vary widely based on many factors — your source material, the number of parts in your design, the complexity and intricacy of your design, and so on. Of course, it will also depend on our backlog at the time you place your order.
As a guide, very simple geometric designs on common material such as steel or aluminium can often be cut in under an hour.

If heat-affecting is a concern, we will cut your job on the waterjet.
Waterjet is a cool cutting process that won’t heat affect your material. This is great for bisalloy and high-carbon steel where you don’t want to adversely affect the material properties.

Almost anything! Metals, stone, glass (except tug-fended glass), plastics, rubber, wood and more.

We can cut material up to 200mm thick using the waterjet.

Yes! We can cut bevels up to ±60º into most materials using the waterjet
